I am Tien Thuy Quach, but just call me Tien, which means a fairy or one type of flower in English.

I am from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and now live in Scotland. I am very proud of my home country as it is one of the most beautiful and friendly countries in the world. Glasgow’s citizens are very hospitable to every newcomer, and live up to the slogan ‘People make Glasgow’. I am studying a masters here, and I enjoy travel and exercise.

Gaining practical skills, along with saving money for my living expenses, is important for me. It was my pleasure to be accepted as a face-to-face Vietnamese interpreter at Clear Voice Interpreting Services. This job gave me a chance to support my Vietnamese community by interpreting for the NHS, including hospitals, opticians, dental clinics and psychology centers. I have also interpreted for Migrant Help and other organizations in Scotland who support Vietnamese people.

I have seen so many different client stories being played! For example, I observed the birth of a baby that was able to safely come to the world with my support as medical interpretation.

“I believe that every life journey is worth sharing”

My multi-tasking and language skills have significantly improved thanks to supportive Clear Voice staff: Ilir, Charlie, and Chantal. They are continuously encouraging me, advising me and demonstrating flexibility when my availability is limited.

I am very thankful for your patience on reading my story and I am looking forward to hearing feedback from you. I believe that every life journey is worth sharing, so feel free to spread your own unique experiences with me and others!
