The outstanding work of our interpreters and office team over the course of the pandemic has been recognised on the Social Enterprise Roll of Honour!

The Roll of Honour, which was announced by Chris Addison at Social Enterprise Futures’ online event in November, celebrates some incredible social enterprises who displayed the passion, resilience and creativity so characteristic of the social enterprise sector in their response to COVID.

Social enterprises are businesses which trade for a social and/or environmental purpose. They’ve been doing all they can to keep on serving the communities they are set up to support, with many pivoting their business models in order to do so.

Over 400 organisations were nominated, every one of which is incredibly deserving, and we are so proud to be among them.

There is no route to the future that does not have social enterprise at it’s centre.”

— Gordon Brown

Positive social impact is at the heart of all social enterprises, and recent events have made continuing this impact simultaneously more crucial and more challenging. You can find out exactly how we navigated the challenges of the pandemic in our blog on the subject.

Overcoming these challenges would not have been possible without our interpreters and office staff. Every single member of our team has been working extremely hard to meet the changing needs of our clients and end users. We want to take this opportunity to thank every single one of them for helping us achieve our goal of providing effective communication for vulnerable people.

We also want to thank our clients, without whose support and business we would not be able to achieve our social mission of supporting people affected by exploitation and displacement.

Whether you are a business looking to transform your procurement to have positive social impact or an individual looking to shop in a more ethical way, you can do so by using social enterprises! Use the Social Enterprise Directory to explore the products and services available.

The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed and exacerbated the deep inequalities within society. When the pandemic passes, we need to seriously rethink how the economy works and the role of business within it. To truly build back better we need a real step change in the uptake and adoption of social enterprise models, which show that successful businesses can put people and the planet first.
